INDIANAPOLIS – The first series of football regional rankings were published by the NCAA on Monday with two teams from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference representing Super Region 1.

Tiffin (7-1, 5-0) and Ohio Dominican (5-2, 4-1) were both ranked by the national committee at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively, in the first release.

In Super Region 1, teams from the Great Midwest, Mountain East Conference (MEC), Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10), are all considered for the rankings.

The top eight schools from the region rankings are ultimately seeded into the NCAA Championship bracket.

In recent NCAA Championship history, Hillsdale and Findlay have represented the conference very well in 2018 and 2017 with both programs scoring first-round playoff wins against Kutztown and Shepherd.

Tiffin has won six straight games while receiving votes (12) in the AFCA Poll for the second straight week. The Dragons are on the verge of breaking into the Top 25 as they gear up for Hillsdale in Week 10 following a bye.

Ohio Dominican carries a three-game win streak as the Panthers prepare for a bye week but faces Lake Erie in Week 10 at home.

In the first Super Region 1 rankings, Kutztown and Slippery Rock lead the PSAC in the first two slots. Notre Dame (OH) is in third followed by Indiana (PA) and West Virginia State to round out the top five.

West Chester (PSAC), Urbana (MEC) and Shepherd (PSAC) are next up on the list.
