Volleyball Players of the Week (Oct. 28)

INDIANAPOLIS – Tiffin and Trevecca Nazarene shared Great Midwest Athletic Conference Volleyball Players of the Week honors as league competition resumed following the Midwest Region Crossover.

Huffman and the Dragons (12-11, 6-1) seized sole possession of third place in the conference standings with a sweep over Cedarville.
 
Huffman collected her second conference weekly honor of the season as she tallied 16 kills and had a hitting percentage of .342.
 
She also contributed digs and had three total blocks in the straight-set decision against the Yellow Jackets at home.
 
The senior also reached a career milestone, becoming just the second player in Tiffin program history to reach 1,500 career kills.
 
A first team all-conference selection a year ago, Huffman is the current league leader in kills per set (4.64) and points per set (5.29).
 
TU has an away matchup in Columbus vs. Ohio Dominican this week.

The Trojans are right in the thick of the conference playoff race after picking up a pair of conference victories at home.
 
TNU improved to 5-1 in Nashville with a sweep over Alderson Broaddus and a four-set win against Ohio Valley. The Trojans posted a strong week of results after having an extremely tough draw at Midwest Region Crossover vs. nationally-ranked Rockhurst, UMSL and Illinois Springfield, all high seeds from the GLVC.
 
Hindman averaged almost 4.5 digs per set and contributed four service aces. The sophomore has already exceeded her dig total from her freshman season and continues to lead the team so far this year.
 
Hindman is also top 10 in the conference in digs while tallying 352 so far and averaging 3.83 in 92 sets counted.
