INDIANAPOLIS
– The league schedule resumes with a total of five contests on tap for an entertaining Week 7 schedule around the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Teams are looking to make their mark and catch the eye of the selection committee as the first NCAA Super Region 1 rankings roll out Monday, Oct. 28.

In a game with clear championship implications, Hillsdale (4-2, 2-0) heads to Findlay (4-2, 3-1) for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Donnell Stadium.

The Oilers faithful will not forget last year’s conclusion against the Chargers as then QB Adam Bertke dove for the end zone. Conference records are getting increasingly difficult to do, but UF’s Christopher Jefferson ripped a page out of the archives with two more INT’s in Week 6.

Jefferson officially broke the single-season league record just six weeks into the season and is the sole leader in the NCAA (regardless of division) with 7 interceptions. On special teams, Chris Demler tied the single-game scoring record by a kicker and became the first player to successfully make four field goals in a game.

The Chargers overcome a 13-point halftime deficit at Northwood last week as QB Luke Keller shined in some big moments. The defense is still among the league’s best as DB Zach Herzog leads all players in the conference in tackles with 60.

Tiffin will host Alderson Broaddus at Frost-Kalnow Stadium for another conference matchup. It has been a tale of the tape for both programs – the league-leading Dragons (5-1, 3-0) are putting up over 41 points per game while the Battlers (0-6, 0-3) are giving up over 51 points per contest.

Walsh briefly steps out of the conference slate to host West Liberty in a Super Region 1 affair at the Hall of Fame Stadium. The Cavaliers (1-5, 1-3) gave Findlay all it could handle last week at home and takes on a 3-3 Hilltoppers squad.

Walsh still leads the conference in sacks with 15, three more than both Findlay and Tiffin. DL Morgan Trust has a team and league-best 5 of those.

Ohio Dominican (3-2, 2-1) was idle in Week 6 and a battle of the Panthers will unfold down in Owensboro for a mid-afternoon tussle. KWC (0-6, 0-3) is on a quest for its first victory of the season after a tough homestand against Tiffin last Saturday.

Lake Erie (2-4, 2-2) goes out to Upland, Ind., against NAIA affiliate Taylor, an opponent that was occasionally on the schedule for Malone when the Pioneers sponsored their football program. The Storm were able to ground and pound in the run as Eric Zakouri had himself one of the top 10 best days with 212 rushing yards vs. Alderson Broaddus.

After a winless 2018 campaign that the program endured, head coach Reilly Murphy is seeking out his third victory in his first season leading the Storm.
