INDIANAPOLIS – Another week in the books for the 2018-19 Great Midwest Wrestling season, and another week of some excellent competition across the conference.
The strong team showings came from Tiffin and Alderson Broaddus. The Dragons notched a big upset win over the highly ranked McKendree Bearcats at the Kenosha Duals, and the Battlers placed 5th overall in the Virginia Duals. The Fighting Scots of Ohio Valley also racked up a team win over Coker College.

Bronne and the Dragons had some tough matchups against two nationally-ranked ranked opponents in the Kenosha Duals, No. 4 McKendree and No. 15 Maryville, respectively, from the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Tiffin defeated No. 4 McKendree, 27-12, and dropped a team bout to No. 15 Maryville, 26-14, in Wisconsin.
Bronne did his part by defeating both opponents with bonus points to earn his second athlete of the week honor for the 2018-19 season.
The senior pinned Bailey Kelley from Maryville in 3:24. He then provided a major decision victory at 184 pounds over Dan Fillipek with a final score of 10-2.
Bronne remains ranked 11th at 184 pounds by InterMat Wrestling in the Division II weight class rankings.
Tiffin and Bronne look to continue their strong season in against stiff competition with dual meets at University of Indianapolis on Saturday, January 19th.
