Records (Updated Through 2017 Season)
INDIANAPOLIS - All nine Great Midwest Athletic Conference football playing institutions are set to kick off their 2018 seasons with a busy Week 1 starting on Thursday, August 30.
Three games start tomorrow evening beginning with Walsh visiting Wayne State for a 6 p.m. ET kick. One hour later, Alderson Broaddus plays on the road at Saginaw Valley State while defending champion and No. 23 (AFCA) Ohio Dominican hosts California (PA) in a key super region contest.
Six more games on the gridiron are slated for Saturday, Sept. 1, including super regional matchups between Edinboro (PSAC) vs. Lake Erie and Mercyhurst (PSAC) vs. Hillsdale.
Tiffin makes its Great Midwest debut as a first-year member institution by facing a familiar foe in Northwood and Malone will play at the Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton against NAIA Championship qualifier Concordia (MI).
Playing the first game counting towards the conference standings is No. 25 (AFCA)/No. 22 (D2Football.com)/No. 21 (Street & Smith's) Findlay going up against Kentucky Wesleyan.
The UF/KWC matchup will be streamed on the Great Midwest Digital Network.
The ODU/Cal (PA) battle is a rematch from the 2017 season opener between both teams as the Vulcans edged the Panthers by just two points. Ohio Dominican has redemption on the mind with talented playmakers on both sides of the ball.
This season marks the third year of Great Midwest football with Alderson Broaddus (2016) and Ohio Dominican (2017) each being crowned league champions in the conference's history.
The Week 3 matchup between Ohio Dominican at Findlay will be streamed on NCAA Division II's Twitter and Facebook accounts while also being aired on the Great Midwest Digital Network as part of the football showcase package hybrid model.
