INDIANAPOLIS - Lake Erie sophomore 125-pounder Blake Glogouski (New Paris, IN/Fairfield HS) was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Wrestling Athlete of the Week on Wednesday.
The 23rd-ranked Storm beat No. 18 Findlay on Senior Night as Glogouski came through with a pin in his bout.
Glogouski is also ranked 10th nationally in his weight class by InterMat.
He gave Lake Erie a 6-0 lead against the Oilers with a pin against Zachary Collins in 2:48. His brother Forrest would follow with a 2-1 decision at 133 pounds right after the completion of his match.
Lake Erie would win the match by a score of 36-12. The match featured a key battle at 184 pounds between previous Great Midwest Athletes of the Week Tyler Hughes (LEC) and Bradley Metz (UF).
Metz pinned Hughes as both grapplers remain nationally ranked in their weight class.
