INDIANAPOLIS – The final 2018 calendar year Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week selection was announced on the Monday evening of Christmas Eve.
A handful of teams were able to fit in games as student-athletes around the league focused on finals and enjoying the holiday layover during respective winter breaks.

The Yellow Jackets made a trip down to Florida along with the women’s basketball program played No. 10 Florida Southern down to the wire while also beating Saint Leo.
Both opponents were from the Sunshine State Conference as Cedarville remained in a first-place tie in the league standings and improved to 7-5 overall.
Zawadzki had an impressive two-game showcase with averages of 21 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game, while shooting 50 percent from the field.
He had a 34-point outburst against Saint Leo, matching the league’s highest single-game scoring output of the current season.
Zawadzki carved up the Lions with 11-of-19 shooting and he made six three-pointers while also sinking all six free throws tried. He added seven boards, four steals and four assists, in the Yellow Jackets win.
Versus FSC, the senior guard had a well-rounded stat line of eight points, eight rebounds and five assists. He also had one steal and a blocked shot.
On the season, Zawadzki is averaging almost 12 points per game and he is currently the league leader in assists at over 7 per contest. He also ranks second in the conference in free throw percentage at 93.2 percent, only behind teammate Conner TenHove and his near-perfect 97.1 percent clip (33-34).
