INDIANAPOLIS – The playoffs in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship bracket started on Tuesday evening with quarterfinal action at four different campus sites.

Four teams advanced out of the first round into the semifinals, which will be hosted at Hillsdale College in the Biermann Athletic Center on Friday and Saturday. The championship match is scheduled for Saturday at 5 p.m. ET.

The championship banquet and all-conference team announcement will be conducted on Thursday evening on Hillsdale’s campus with the No. 1 (West) Chargers, No. 1 (East) Walsh, No. 2 (East) Lake Erie and No. 2 (West) Findlay, all in attendance.

Hillsdale will play host once again, as the Chargers hosted the Great Midwest Championship last year. The West Division champion Chargers swept No. 4 East Ursuline Tuesday night in three sets to stake their claim as the top remaining seed to advance.

The Chargers will face off against No. 2 (East) Lake Erie on Friday at 5:00 PM ET after the Storm advanced on a 3-1 victory over No. 3 (West) Tiffin in the first round.

The second game slated for Friday night will feature No. 2 (West) Findlay and East Division champ Walsh. Walsh edged No. 4 (West) Cedarville by a 3-1 margin in North Canton, while Findlay advanced on a 3-0 decision over No. 3 (East) Malone.

These four same teams also advanced into the final two rounds of the conference tournament from a year ago (HC, UF, LEC, WU). The tournament champion receives an automatic qualifier bid into the NCAA Championship Midwest Regional.
