Volleyball Players of the Week (Nov. 5)

INDIANAPOLIS – Repeat winners were taken from each division as the playoff race unfolded for Great Midwest Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week selections as the regular season concluded.
 
Four quarterfinal matches will be played out on Tuesday while the advancing semifinalists will play out the final two rounds of the conference tournament at the highest seed remaining.
 
East Division Player of the Week
Victoria Henderson
Ursuline

Henderson helped Ursuline clinch the final postseason spot available for the Great Midwest Championship bracket as the Arrows will represent the East Division.
 
Her numbers were right on par among the best in the league, nothing out of the norm for the talented outside.
 
Henderson averaged four kills per set and was responsible for 4.88 points per game, second among league players in the final week of the regular season.
 
She played eight sets as Ursuline fell in a tough 3-2 final against Davis & Elkins, but rebounded with a playoff-securing sweep against Alderson Broaddus.
 
Henderson delivered 21 kills and had 21 digs for a double-double in the effort vs. D&E. She added 11 kills on 34 swings vs. ABU while also digging out nine attack attempts. She also served up a combined five service aces and had four blocks
 
Ursuline will carry a 12-16 overall record into the first round of the conference tournament at Hillsdale.
 
West Division Player of the Week
Jenna Huffman

Huffman led all players from the league in kills (4.90), blocks (1.70) and points per set (6.15), with one of her strongest stretches in a year loaded with them.
 
She was dominant up front in 10 sets played while racking up 49 kills on a robust .414 hitting percentage, 17 blocks (six solo, 11 assisted) and one service ace. The standout middle also had double-doubles in both sweeps.
 
Huffman hit .560 vs. Davis & Elkins to go with 17 kills on just 25 swings. The double-double was completed with 10 digs.
 
The junior was just as efficient against ODU with 13 kills and almost pocketed a triple-double with 11 digs and eight total blocks.
 
Huffman is the current league leader in hitting percentage (.389), blocks (1.21) and points (4.84) while ranking fourth in kills (3.81).
 
This is Huffman’s third conference weekly honor from the West Division of the season.
 
The Dragons polished off their regular season with division wins vs. Davis & Elkins and Ohio Dominican and will carry a 21-10 record into the program’s first Great Midwest playoff match vs. No. 2 East Lake Erie on Tuesday.
