Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week (Nov. 12)

11.12.18

INDIANAPOLIS – The first few games are in the books as opening weekend signaled the start of Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week selections.

Walsh won both contests against GLIAC opponents as the only team in the league to start 2-0.

Both Findlay and Lake Erie played one game with a win while some schools were tasked with playing national-runner-up Ashland (Cedarville, Ohio Dominican) and nationally-ranked Drury (Trevecca, Kentucky Wesleyan).

Cedarville, Ohio Dominican and Tiffin each won a game while defending conference tourney champion Hillsdale faced UIndy and Lewis in the first two contests of the season.

Senior
North Fairfield, OH (South Central HS)

Hintz helped Findlay defeat Wayne State (Mich.) in the Oilers’ season opener with an impressive debut that stuffed the box score.

The senior first team all-conference performer and all-region forward scored 25 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, had three steals and three blocks and dished out a pair of assists.

Hintz made half of her shots from the field, shooting 10-for-20 and made five free throws in 32 minutes of court time.

Her 25 points and 14 rebounds were tops around the conference factoring all players.

After recording nine double-doubles as a junior, Hintz was just one of four players around the league to have a double-double in the first week of competition.
