INDIANAPOLIS – With another tournament trophy secured and a trip locked in for the NCAA Championship Midwest Regional, Hillsdale’s Paige VanderWall is the final Great Midwest Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week.

VanderWall had a monster three-game stretch in the Great Midwest Championship bracket as the Chargers beat Ursuline in the quarterfinals, Lake Erie in the semifinals and Findlay in the title clash.
VanderWall earned back-to-back Great Midwest Player of the Year honors following Thursday evening’s championship banquet on campus.
The senior right side smashed 5.56 kills and 3.44 digs per set during the conference playoffs and hit .431, second only to teammate Allyssa Van Wienen.
VanderWall was dominant with a 25-kill, 16-dig, 4-block showcase against Lake Erie while hitting .431 in four sets.
She only played two out of the three sets against Ursuline in the quarterfinals, but still had seven kills on just 17 swings. In the championship final, VanderWall had 18 kills in three games as the Chargers swept the Oilers.
This is her second conference weekly honor of the 2018 season and third of her career. Going into the NCAA postseason, VanderWall was the league leader in kills (4.19 per set) and was third in the conference in hitting percentage at .333.
