Official 2018 Midwest Region Crossover Tournament Page
INDIANAPOLIS – A total of 12 institutions from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference will be represented at the 2018 Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover tournament this weekend at The Academy Volleyball Club.
The tournament is scheduled for October 12-13 and gives participating schools the opportunity to enhance their regional resume for the national tournament selection process.
A total of 38 programs from the Midwest Region in the nation’s largest collegiate tournament at one venue will also include 14 from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and 12 from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
Each team is guaranteed three matches and an all-tournament team comprised of 20 student-athletes will be announced at the conclusion.
For the Great Midwest, the league’s expansion correlates with this year’s representation with all seven teams in the West Division and five from the East Division making the trip to Indianapolis.

Hillsdale is the Great Midwest’s top seed going into the tournament and has the top draw from both the GLVC (Drury) and No. 6 seed from the GLVC (Lewis) The Chargers will also go up against the No. 3 seed from the GLIAC, Ashland.
Findlay drew the GLIAC’s top seed, Ferris State, and additionally will compete against Davenport and Illinois-Springfield over the weekend. Tiffin the No. 3 overall seed from the conference and also from the West Division, face Grand Valley State (GLIAC), Michigan Tech (GLIAC) and Truman State (GLVC).
The remaining seeds from the Great Midwest were determined by their current placement in the league standings.
Teams will arrive on Thursday for practice sessions before competition gets underway with the first session starting Friday morning at 11:30 AM ET.
This is the first year the Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover will be conducted at The Volleyball Academy.
