Ohio Valley Ranked for Sixth Consecutive Week

10.5.18

INDIANAPOLIS – Dating back to the preseason, co-Great Midwest Athletic Conference standings leader Ohio Valley is ranked for the sixth week in a row in the new United Soccer Coaches Poll that was put out on Tuesday.

Now ranked at No. 6, the Fighting Scots (11-1-0, 7-1-0 G-MAC) are currently locked with Tiffin as each program has gathered 21 points in the conference standings.

The Fighting Scots started the year ranked seventh and were ranked as high as No. 2 for back-to-back weeks, giving the Great Midwest a premier program on the national radar in men’s soccer.

OVU’s latest exploits were a combined 9-1 score in a pair of wins against Kentucky Wesleyan and Trevecca.

The Fighting Scots were able to redeem themselves from their lone loss of the season to the Trojans just one week removed from a 3-1 win in the second meeting.

Ohio Valley is the conference leader in just about everything, including shots, points, goals, goals per game, assists, assists per game, goals allowed, goals against average and shutouts.

Six games remain for Ohio Valley in the regular season schedule, including an Oct. 20 date Tiffin, which could hold potential regular-season and playoff implications the way both teams are playing.
