Tiffin Breaks Into United Soccer Coaches’ Top-25 Poll

INDIANAPOLIS – Getting primed for its first postseason appearance as a member institution in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Championship, Tiffin earned a spot in the United Soccer Coaches national rankings.
 
The newest poll had the Great Midwest regular-season champion and top-seeded Dragons slotted at No. 22.
 
TU is the second Great Midwest program to be ranked in the national poll this season after Ohio Valley was a top-10 for seven consecutive weeks. OVU is receiving votes in the rankings for the second week in a row.
 
Tiffin, coached by Rudy Brownell, is also currently third in the NCAA DII Midwest Region rankings. The Dragons were picked third in the conference preseason coaches poll this year.
 
Tiffin will face No. 5 seed Lake Erie in Thursday’s semifinal contest at Paradiso Fields with a start time of noon ET.
 
The Dragons have had four different student-athletes receive conference athlete of the week honors this season including Dylan Morris (defensive), Abdoul Magid Sy (offensive), Ramiesh McKnight (offensive) and Joel Daly (defensive).
 
The 2018 all-conference team with 34 student-athletes (on first, second, honorable mention teams) will also be announced on Wednesday evening at the championship banquet in Tiffin.
