INDIANAPOLIS – Including the preseason, Ohio Valley continues to represent the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 Poll.
The Fighting Scots are ranked at No. 6 for the third consecutive week while putting together a 13-2-0 overall record.
OVU remains in contention for the conference regular-season title and is an odds-on favorite to potentially host the final four teams left in the postseason tournament bracket.
The Fighting Scots’ lofty national billing also could lead the hosting the Midwest Regional for the NCAA Championships if the program can continue its current course.
The postseason is harder for teams to come by this season. Only six teams will make the Great Midwest Championship bracket and three of the seeds have been sealed with OVU, Tiffin and Cedarville, in the playoffs.
The Fighting Scots have a narrow one-point lead in the standings on Cedarville, which has head-to-head victories over OVU and third-place Tiffin.
Simon Fraser remains at No. 1 followed by Young Harris, Palm Beach Atlantic, Charleston and the Colorado School of Mines.
