INDIANAPOLIS – Starting a new month in October, Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Players of the Week honors were announced on Monday afternoon by the league.
No. 7 Ohio Valley and Tiffin are deadlocked at the top of the conference standings with 18 points each. OVU bounced back from its first loss of the year with a pair of wins by a combined score of 9-1.
The Dragons remain hot after playing its fifth overtime game of the season already. Tiffin defeated Walsh and Malone and a matchup vs. Ohio Valley at Pardiso Fields, home of TU, looms on October 20.
The potential championship hosting implications extend beyond the top two programs. If the playoffs started today, three teams tied with 10 points would be on the outside looking into the championship bracket.
Cedarville carved out two impressive shutout wins against Alderson Broaddus and Ohio Dominican, two teams that have each been in first place at some point over the past week.
There is plenty of time for Lake Erie, Walsh, Malone and others, to make their way into the playoffs.
