INDIANAPOLIS – Trevecca junior guard Callie Hackett (Carthage, TN / Smith County HS / Mercer) was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week after a strong two-game stretch in the league schedule.
The Trojans went 1-1 on the week but won by double digits on the road in Croy Gymnasium against Findlay, a program that has paced the league standings for much of the regular season.
Trevecca is pushing for the playoffs in the G-MAC Championship bracket with four wins in their last six conference games.
Hackett helped the Trojans pick up their eighth win of the season with a season-high 31 points on near perfect 10-of-12 shooting against Findlay. She also had six assists as TNU won by a 15-point margin.
She added three rebounds and three steals. Twenty-one of those 31 points came in the second half, when she was a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor and added a perfect 6-for-6 effort from the free throw line.
In 39 minutes against Hillsdale, she added 12 points and six rebounds and distributed four assists to her weekly totals as TNU kept it close in another tight road result.
She has netted double figures in 16 of the 18 games she has appeared in this season while leading TNU in scoring for 13 contests.
Hackett currently ranks seventh in the conference in scoring with 16.8 points per game.
She is also one of the most dependable at the charity stripe, knocking down over 87 percent of her free throws, which puts her at third best in the league. She is also sixth in assists per game with 3.3, 15th in steals per game with 1.5 and 10th in assist/turnover ratio at 1.5.
