INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference named Findlay’s Bradley Metz (Lexington, OH / Lexington HS) as Wrestling Athlete of the Week after an impressive another impressive week on the mat for the Oilers.

This is the second time Metz has won the award since the season began; he also earned honors in December.

Findlay currently sits at 16th in the country according to the most recent National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Poll and sits directly behind fellow Great Midwest member Lake Erie, which is ranked at No. 15.

Metz went 3-0 at the Ranger Duals in Kenosha, Wis., in the 184-pound weight division. In his first match he took down 11th-ranked Connor Price of Wisconsin-Parkside by a 3-1 decision. He backed that up with an 11-2 major decision over McKendree’s Ryan Vasbinder, 11-2.

In his final he scored another major decision when he defeated Brady Nelson of Saint Cloud State, 14-0, effectively completing the Ranger Dual sweep.

The senior is currently ranked seventh overall by Intermat in his weight class.

This is the fourth time in six weeks so far this season that a wrestler from Findlay has taken home the award with Metz winning twice and junior Alonzo Turner (165) and senior heavyweight Mimmo Little joining him.
