The regular season continues to roll along leading up to the inaugural G-MAC/Mountain East Championships in Canton, Ohio, hosted by Malone starting on Feb. 14.

Pedro Gaspar

For the second time as a rookie, Gaspar was recognized for his work in the pool at the Battle of the Hills – a head-to-head matchup against in-state rival West Virginia Wesleyan in Buckhannon.

The Senators will later go up against WVWC at the G-MAC/MEC Championships, but Gaspar recorded a trio of first-place finishes and just as many runner-up placings.

He took top honors in the 200 freestyle, 200 butterfly and 200 backstroke. He finished second in the 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle. His time in both the 200 freestyle and 200 backstroke rank fourth in the league this season.

Heeres is the third Charger to collect conference weekly honors this year along with freshman Hannah Wilkens and junior Anika Ellingson. HC went up against DePauw and Olivet on Saturday at home.

Heeres touched the wall first in three different events, the 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 100 individual medley. She also finished second as part of the 400 freestyle relay unit.

Her time of 1:02.89 in the 100 IM ranks third in the conference this season. Hillsdale won the triangular event.
