INDIANAPOLIS
– Seven football teams from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference will take the field in Week 2 of the regular season on Saturday.

Malone is the lone bye while four teams will play on their home field.

The opening week saw the league assemble a 2-6 record as Hillsdale and Findlay emerged as winners in their season debuts. Hillsdale took down Mercyhurst on the road while Findlay toppled rival Tiffin.

The first three Great Midwest Players of the Week were also recognized as Malone’s Jordan Johnson (Special Teams) and Ryan Weber (Defensive) along with Findlay’s Daouda Sylla (Offensive) each received honors.

Many single-game records were shattered on both sides of the ball as the eight-team conference continues to round into form.

Findlay has a tough test at home against No. 2 Ferris State while Ohio Dominican faces Ashland on the road for the late games kicking off at 7 p.m. ET. Both Findlay and Ohio Dominican received votes in the AFCA Top-25 Poll this week.

Hillsdale entertains a familiar former GLIAC foe as Michigan Tech pays a visit while Lake Erie hosts future Great Midwest member Tiffin. Alderson Broaddus will head west to match up against Quincy from the Great Lakes Valley Conference and Walsh will face Saginaw Valley State on the road.
