JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - 2016 Great Midwest Offensive and Special Teams Player of the Year and former Kentucky Wesleyan wide receiver Keelan Cole has made the 53-man roster of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Despite going undrafted, Cole impressed the Jaguars coaching staff enough to warrant a roster spot.

The conference career leader in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns started off the preseason in Week One with a 97-yard touchdown catch from Chad Henne against the New England Patriots. He led all Jaguars receivers with 108 yards in the game.

After signing with the Jaguars in late April, he finished the preseason with five catches for 132 yards and a touchdown as well as returning one punt for 31 yards. The Louisville, Kentucky native is ranked fourth on the Jaguars initial depth chart behind Allen Robinson, Marqise Lee, and fellow rookie Dede Westbrook.

His impressive camp resulted in Cole being the only one out of 13 undrafted free agents the Jaguars signed to make the team, and just the 42nd player in Jaguars team history to make the roster without being drafted.

The Jaguars open up the 2017 NFL season in Houston against the Texans on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 1:00 PM EST and the game will be aired by CBS.
