United Soccer Coaches Poll (Week 4)
INDIANAPOLIS - United Soccer Coaches released its Week 4 Poll on Tuesday for Division II and for the second consecutive week the Great Midwest Athletic Conference is represented by Ohio Valley at No. 18.
The Fighting Scots are 8-1-1 overall and went 2-0 since the last poll was released including a 3-0 victory over Findlay and a 5-2 win against Ohio Dominican.
The Fighting Scots also remain steady ranked third in the United Soccer Midwest Region rankings, which were also released on Tuesday. They are joined by Findlay, which is ranked sixth for the second straight week as well.
The Fighting Scots lead all Great Midwest teams in shots, points, goals, goals against average and are second in assists only to Walsh.
Senior keeper Carlos Rubio has been the United Soccer National Player of the Week and a two-time selection for Great Midwest Defensive Player of the Week honors. OVU’s Guillermo Segovia has 17 points (6 goals, 5 assists) to lead all players.
On the women’s side, the Great Midwest is also involved in the Midwest Region rankings. Ohio Valley jumped up from eighth last week to now fourth this week after two wins over Findlay and Ohio Dominican University. Behind them is Walsh University at sixth and Ohio Dominican at seventh.
