INDIANAPOLIS – A pair of first-year league member institutions, Ohio Dominican and Walsh, received Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week recognition on Tuesday.
After winning three straight Ohio Dominican finds itself at the top of the 13-team league standings with nine conference points and a perfect 3-0-0 record.
A resurgent Ohio Valley program, picked last in the preseason coaches poll, is 2-0-1 with seven points while the Cavaliers of Walsh have yet to permit a goal allowed in the entire season.
There have already been five ties that have unfolded in conference play, including two apiece drawn by preseason coaches poll favorite Trevecca, Malone, Alderson Broaddus and Kentucky Wesleyan.
Plenty of time remains in the regular season for movement up and down as eight teams will try to push their way into the playoff race for the conference tournament.

Alli Pavlik
Ohio Dominican
Forward
Senior – Cortland, OH (Lakeview HS)
Arguably one of the best individual talents coming in from the GLIAC, Pavlik was Ohio Dominican’s leader in goals scored a year ago. The Panthers outscored Ursuline and Lake Erie by a combined score of 8-1 as Pavlik left her impact felt in both contests.
Pavlik was credited with the game-winning goals in each matchup as she unleashed a total of 14 shots against both defenses. She scored in the 65th, a quick answer from a game-tying score from Ursuline less than 60 seconds elapsed – to give her team a 2-1 edge.
The Panthers solved a strong Ursuline program that has won a conference title and established itself as a G-MAC Championship contender every year.
The offense was clicking against Lake Erie in a 5-0 blanking as Pavlik’s fifth goal of the season got the Panthers off and running in the first half. She is the current league leader in shots (32) and is tied for third in points with 10.
Pavlik’s career goal total at ODU is now at 24, good for sixth in program history.

Mickey McClanahan
Walsh

Franklin, OH (Bishop Fenwick HS)
Just a sophomore, the Cavaliers’ lockdown defense has been pioneered by McClanahan, who has reeled off five consecutive scoreless appearances in over 378 minutes on the pitch.
McClanahan and Walsh’s latest efforts included a pair of conference shutouts against reigning conference tourney champion Davis & Elkins and against Alderson Broaddus. Both contests were on the road as Walsh improved to 5-0-0 on the year.
McClanahan has been impressive in Midwest Region contests after additionally recording a shutout with the full 90 minutes against Northwood (MI) and over 71 minutes in net vs. Purdue Northwest.
McClanahan made five saves on a total of 19 shots faced by D&E and AB.
