INDIANAPOLIS
– Five teams from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference are looking forward to kicking off the 2017 season on Saturday as football continues to swing into full gear.

Alderson Broaddus and Walsh will both be at home with games airing on the Great Midwest Digital Network. AB plays host to Saginaw Valley State while Walsh debuts at the brand new Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium against Wayne State (MI).

Other Great Midwest contests slated for Saturday are all on the road including Hillsdale taking on Mercyhurst, Lake Erie traveling to Edinboro and Malone making the trip to Taylor.

All eight Great Midwest schools are playing non-conference opponents in Week 1.

Three games went final on Thursday night as Findlay recorded the first Great Midwest win of the year. The Oilers took down Tiffin on the road to extend what has become a lengthy head-to-head win streak against the Dragons, a future Great Midwest member institution.

Kentucky Wesleyan was taken down on the road by Division I-AA Murray State and Ohio Dominican gave reigning PSAC champion No. 8 California (PA) all it could handle in the season opener in a Super Region I battle.
