NEW ORLEANS – A total of 51 student-athletes, 32 women and 19 men, were honored by the United State Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as All-Academic Individuals for the 2016-17 year.
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either the indoor or outdoor seasons.
Student-athletes from Cedarville, Findlay, Hillsdale, Lake Erie, Malone, Ursuline and Walsh, helped comprise the women’s total number of 471 selections. The men had 301 all-academic individuals represented from Cedarville, Findlay, Hillsdale, Lake Erie and Walsh.
Future Great Midwest member Tiffin led all schools with 13 total selections on the men’s side and added two more honorees on the women’s list.
The USTFCCCA academic awards also included All-Academic Team honors as 12 Great Midwest men’s and women’s track and field programs received the honor.
