Ohio Dominican, Findlay Among Division II’s Best in WBCA Academic Top 25 Honor Roll

ATLANTA
– New Great Midwest Athletic Conference member institutions Ohio Dominican and Findlay made an impression in the 2016-17 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s (WBCA) Academic Top-25 Team Honor Roll released Wednesday.
 
Coached by Lynsey Warren, Ohio Dominican tied for seventh in the Division II ranks with Pittsburg State as both institutions posted a team GPA of 3.717.
 
Findlay was also among Division II’s academic elite with a ranking of No. 22 and a team GPA of 3.537 in the 2016-17 year. The Oilers are coached by Jim Wiedie.
 
ODU, UF, Hillsdale, Lake Erie and Walsh, will all compete in their first year of Great Midwest women’s basketball competition for the 2017-18 season.
 
Emporia State led all Division II programs with a 3.744 team GPA.
 
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III; NAIA and junior/community college women’s basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season.

The 2016-17 season is the 22nd in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
