G-MAC Champ Kentucky Wesleyan Headed to St. Louis for NCAA Midwest Regional

INDIANAPOLIS - The NCAA Selection Show revealed St. Louis, Mo., as the destination for Great Midwest Athletic Conference Softball champion Kentucky Wesleyan, which punched its ticket in the national tournament on Sunday.

The Panthers earned the No. 8 seed as an automatic qualifier and are headed to the NCAA Championship Midwest 1 Regional hosted by top seed Missouri-St. Louis.

The Panthers are currently riding an eight-game winning streak and went 4-0 this past week, cruising to their first-ever Great Midwest Athletic Conference tournament title in softball.

This will mark the first trip to the NCAA tournament in program history for the Panthers, who have tied the single season wins record at 38, set by the 1986 squad.

UMSL earned the No. 1 seed and right to host after winning the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament this past weekend. The Tritons are currently 39-13 and went 4-0 at the tournament, outscoring their opponents 13-2 with three shutouts.
