*All scheduled games for Thursday in the G-MAC Softball Championship have been postponed due to weather conditions. Another update will be posted later this afternooon around 4 p.m. Eastern as start times are finalized for the remaining games in the tournament.*

XENIA, Ohio
– In a precautionary move with forecasted weather bearing down in the area, the start of the 2017 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Softball Championship has officially been moved up one day at the Athletes in Action Complex.
 
There will now be four games conducted on Wednesday, May 3, utilizing both fields. The start of the six-team conference tournament was originally scheduled to get underway on Thursday.
 
With the first four game times officially set, the championship bracket has been modified. All remaining tournament game times are still to be determined based on the weather conditions.
 
The first set of games will be played at 2:30 p.m. Eastern tomorrow. Live stats and video will be available on field one while games on field two will feature an audio broadcast and live stats.
 
No. 2 Kentucky Wesleyan and No. 5 Ursuline will be stationed on field one while No. 3 Trevecca Nazarene and No. 4 Davis & Elkins will play their opening-round contest on field two. Top seed Cedarville will play against No. 6 Malone at 5:30 p.m. on field one.
 
The nightcap will feature the losing teams from Cedarville/Malone and Kentucky Wesleyan/Ursuline for an 8 p.m. first pitch under the lights.
 
The softball all-conference team will now be announced on Thursday along with the men’s and women’s lacrosse all-conference teams as selected by the coaches. This year’s G-MAC Softball Championship banquet will not be conducted to announce the annual student-athlete awards.
