INDIANAPOLIS - Ursuline freshman Tea Fletcher and Alderson Broaddus senior Megan Valkos were named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Monday.

Fletcher competed in the Westminster Invitational Saturday afternoon and won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.63, which tied her own G-MAC record that she set at the Cedarville Open on March 25.

Fletcher also competed in the 4x100-meter relay along with Janelle Perry, Nicole Yeargin and Gesnide Pierre, and the quartet finished second with a time of 49.50. The time landed the foursome in eighth in the G-MAC record books.

Valkos had a very solid week herself with a PR at the Brandi Bowen Invitational that was completed on Sunday. Most importantly, Valkos placed fourth in the triple jump, with a jump of 10.05m, which set an Alderson Broaddus school record.

It ranks as the top distance around the league during the current outdoor season.

Valkos also competed in the 4x100-meter relay along with teammates Madison Ross, Sherai Allen and Jaymie Snider, with the team finishing second with a time of 52.17. Lastly, the senior from Petersburg, W. Va., finished third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.60.
