G-MAC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week (April 10)

INDIANAPOLIS - Kentucky Wesleyan sophomore James Glenn and Malone senior Duke Taylor were named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Monday.
 
Glenn competed in the Western Kentucky Hiltopper Relays this past weekend. The sophomore from Lyman, South Carolina competed in the 200- meter dash, setting a new G-MAC record with a time of 21.63 seconds.
 
The time surpassed Cedarville’s Andre Klaassen, who previously held the top spot in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.81 back at the All-Ohio Championships in April of 2014. Glenn now holds four of the top 10 200-meter dash best times.
 
Glenn also competed in the in the 100-meter dash and finished with a time of 10.76, which placed Glenn second behind his own record that he set at the Rhodes Invitational on March 17 with a time of 10.60. The speedster now holds seven of the top 10 spots in the 100-meter dash record books, with four of those 10 records being set this year.
 
Taylor, who has now received the field athlete of the week honor seven times this season (five indoor, two outdoor), competed at the University of Mount Union’s John Homon Open on Saturday.  
 
The senior from East Canton, Ohio finished first place in the discus competition with a throw of 180’ 9.5”, which not only ranks first in the G-MAC record books, but also ranks as the fourth-best discus performance across NCAA DII this year. 
 
Taylor holds the top three spots in the G-MAC record books in discus throw. Taylor also finished third in the hammer throw, with a toss of 55.57m, ranking him second in the G-MAC record books and 25th in NCAA DII.
 
He now holds the top three spots in the hammer throw in his first year of league competition.
