INDIANAPOLIS – Trevecca Nazarene senior Alexa Rippy was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week to debut the spring season earlier this week.
Rippy and the Trojans hit the links for the first time in the new calendar year at the Converse College Invitational. TNU finished 12th out of 19 competing teams in the field.
This is her second G-MAC Athlete of the Week nod for the current season and eighth all-time weekly conference honor dating back to 2014.
Rippy carded back-to-back rounds of 75 in South Carolina at the Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg. With a two-round score of 150 (+6), Rippy was the tournament runner-up.
She also lowered her G-MAC-leading scoring average totals to 76.00 through 10 rounds in the 2016-17 season.
The Trojans are next scheduled to compete at the Skyhawk Invitational next week in Georgia.
