INDIANAPOLIS – Ursuline freshman Tea Fletcher and Malone freshman Che Tanner were named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Monday.

Fletcher competed at the Cedarville Yellow Jacket Open while Tanner entered events at the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational in their collegiate spring season debuts.

Fletcher was also an indoor conference athlete of the week and this is Tanner’s first selection.

On her way to G-MAC Track Athlete of the Week accolades, Fletcher tore another page out of the conference record books to establish a new standard in the 100-meter dash.

Her time of 12.25 seconds broke a two-year hold by former Ursuline NCAA All-American Bea Indurain and another former Arrow, Keyana Roberts.

Fletcher had already shattered the 55-meter indoor record and is currently second in the 60-meter indoor dash.

Tanner put herself in the conversation among the league’s best throwers with an impressive showing in the discus. A three-year record was broken by the Pioneers’ rookie and G-MAC Field Athlete of the Week with a distance of 41.54 meters.

She broke the previous mark of Anna Pomento (Cedarville) that was set in 2014.
