INDIANAPOLIS – Now a two-time winner, Malone senior point guard Rachel Goddard was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week again on Monday.

In Tuesday night's home tilt against Bluefield State, Goddard scored a game-high 18 points in just 22 minutes of an 86-39 rout of the Blues. She knocked down seven of her nine shot attempts and was a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point range. Goddard added five assists and a steal as she led Malone to its first 20-win regular season since 2002.

In a dramatic 81-80 overtime win against Ursuline on Saturday, Goddard dropped a game-high 25 points while adding six assists in front of an outstanding Senior Night crowd. Playing in her 80th career game and for the final time on Hal Smith Court, Goddard led the Pioneers to an upset win over the first-place Arrows, who came into the contest winners of 16 straight overall and 24 straight over G-MAC opponents. The senior standout helped Malone clinch the victory as she calmly sank the game-tying and game-winning free throws with five seconds remaining in overtime

On the week, Goddard averaged 21.5 points, 5.5 assists, and 1.5 steals while shooting 68% (17-of-25) from the floor and 83.3% (5-of-6) from three-point range. This season, she finished 5th in the G-MAC in scoring (15.2 ppg), 3rd in assists (4.9 apg), 2nd in free-throws (85.7%), and 9th in field goals (46.9%). She also finished 3rd in NCAA DII with a 3.45 assist-to-turnover ratio.

Goddard led the Pioneers to a 21-6 overall record this season and a 12-2 mark in conference. The Pioneers also clinched the #2 seed and a first-round bye in the upcoming G-MAC Tournament. They will take on either #3 Cedarville or #6 Alderson Broaddus this Friday at 7:30 at Ursuline.
