INDIANAPOLIS – Kentucky Wesleyan duo Maddie Dawson and Autumn Grady were selected as Great Midwest Athletic Conference Softball Players of the Week on Monday.

Grady continues to be a familiar name on the weekly award list, raking in her third G-MAC Pitcher of the Week selection, while Dawson, a freshman, earned her first nod as G-MAC Player of the Week.

The Panthers enjoyed a 3-1 record in the past week against opponents like incoming G-MAC members Ohio Dominican and Hillsdale and No. 18 Indianapolis.

Dawson was a sparkplug at the plate with a 7-for-12 line in four games. She scored four runs and drove in five while legging out a pair of extra-base hits.

Dawson pounded Hillsdale pitching for a 3-for-4 line with three runs scored and four RBI and a double. She tripled and scored twice against nationally-ranked UIndy to help KWC score the regional upset.

Grady improved to 3-0 on the spring, tossing another shutout to beat the Greyhounds of UIndy on a neutral field in Evansville. Backed by 17 hits of offensive production, Grady limited the damage in the circle with three runs on seven hits while recording four more strikeouts.

In four games she is now 3-0 with a 1.83 ERA in 23 innings pitched. She has recorded 16 strikeouts so far this season.
