2.13.17

INDIANAPOLIS – Ursuline redshirt junior forward Laney Lewis was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week again as announced on Monday.

It represents the fourth time this season Lewis has earned weekly conference honors.

The Arrows (19-5, 11-0 G-MAC) hosted two at home and came out on top in both matchups, moving their win streak to 13 straight, establishing a program and new G-MAC record.

Ursuline moved closer to securing hosting rights for the conference tournament and winning another regular-season title, both scenarios that could be decided as the current week unfolds.

Lewis impressively filled up the stat sheet again with two-game averages of 16 points, 11 rebounds, 4.5 blocks, three assists and 2.5 steals, per contest.

On Thursday, Ursuline beat Cedarville by 17 as Lewis registered an 18 point, 12-rebound double-double. She also swatted five shots and picked up three steals while shooting 7-of-11 from the field.

Lewis poured in 15 points and 10 boards for another double-double as Ursuline cruised against Ohio Valley. She handed out four assists, blocked four more shots and collected a pair of steals.

Lewis continues to lead the league in rebounding (12.3) and blocks (2.0) while ranking third in scoring (15.6 ppg), fourth in assists (4.1) and second in field goal percentage (.558).

The Arrows continue the regular season on the road against Alderson Broaddus and Davis & Elkins this week.
