G-MAC Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week (Feb. 13)

2.13.17

INDIANAPOLIS – Kentucky Wesleyan senior guard Ken-Jah Bosley was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week on Monday.

The 14th-ranked Panthers kept right on rolling, winning their 19th and 20th consecutive games while securing the regular-season league title and hosting rights for the G-MAC Championship in March.

Kentucky Wesleyan did its work on the road during the past week, beating Alderson Broaddus and Davis & Elkins in a swing through West Virginia.

Bosley was consistent and lit up both opponents to the tune of 30.5 ppg and averaged six rebounds while shooting nearly 54 percent from the field. He made eight three-point field goals as well.

The Panthers put away the Battlers in the second half to eventually win by 14. Bosley scored 29 points on 5-of-12 shooting. He made 17 of his 18 free throw attempts and pulled in four rebounds, recorded four steals and had a pair of assists.

Bosley and the Panthers overcame a monster game from big man Rickenjee Bellevue of D&E to thwart the Senators’ upset bid. Bosley scored a game-high 32 points on 10-of-16 shooting. He cashed in six triples and pulled down eight rebounds.

Bosley is the G-MAC all-time career leading scorer with 1,959 points since 2013. He is averaging 17.18 points per game through 114 games played.

This year, he’s averaging 18.7 ppg and 2.6 assists while shooting almost 50 percent from the field. He is the current league leader in free throw percentage at .876 and ranks second in three pointers made with 53.

Kentucky Wesleyan plays host to Cedarville and Ohio Valley this week at the Sportscenter, home for this year’s six-team conference tourney once again.
