INDIANAPOLIS – Findlay senior Bradley Metz (Lexington, OH / Lexington HS) was named the third Great Midwest Athletic Conference Wrestling Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
 
The Oilers are ranked 18th as a team nationally while Lake Erie is also ranked tied for 15th in the new NWCA Top-25 Poll that was released on Friday.
 
Findlay competed at the Wisconsin Open in Kenosha as Metz, the fifth-ranked 184-pound wrestler by Intermat, earned one of the Oilers’ two individual weight class titles.
 
Metz finished an unbeaten 4-0 on the mat, including back-to-back pins to start his way through the bracket. In the semifinals, he went to work and defeated another nationally-ranked opponent, No. 11 David Hamil of Lindenwood by a close 3-2 decision.
 
In the championship bout, Metz took down Northern Illinois’ Will Feldkamp by a 5-1 decision to earn his title.
 
Week 2 Great Midwest Athlete of the Week Mimmo Lytle also won a title at the Wisconsin Open in the heavyweight division with a 4-0 record.
