INDIANAPOLIS – Ohio Dominican’s Lauren Bates became just the second NCAA Division II All-American in Great Midwest Athletic Conference history by the D2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).

Bates made the first team as one of the premier goal scorers in the country.

The senior playmaker from Hilliard, Ohio, received this honor after finishing second in the conference in goals with 15 and third in points 33. She also had three assists as the Panthers enjoyed a 16-5-2 overall record.

She helped lead the Panthers to the NCAA Championship Midwest Region semifinal after a runner-up placing in the conference tourney.

On top of the D2CCA All-American selection, Bates also was named to the D2CCA All-Midwest Region First Team and was a CoSIDA Academic All-District First-Team selection.

Cedarville’s Jacoby Ziegler was a Daktronics All-American back in 2013, the Great Midwest women’s soccer All-American in league history.
