INDIANAPOLIS - Camille Gist (Toledo, OH / Toledo Christian School) of Ursuline was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon.

This is Ursuline’s second consecutive nod for conference weekly honors after Laney Lewis earned pre-Thanksgiving recognition along with the USBWA National Player of the Week award.

The senior Gist has embraced and shouldered more of the offensive burden as she posted her third consecutive 20-point performance in Ursuline’s 68-58 win against Mercyhurst on Wednesday.

The win pushed the Arrows over .500 as part of a three-game winning streak and Gist contributed 24 points and three assists in the victory.

After coming into the season with a career-high of 16 points, Gist has stepped up, posting at least 17 points in all but one contest this season.

Against Mercyhurst, Gist shot over 75 percent from the floor, hitting a sparkling 11-of-14 shots. She has made the most of her shots all season, shooting over 60 percent from the field through her first five games.

She is the conference leader in points per game (19.8) and comes in fourth at field goal percentage.
