INDIANAPOLIS – Findlay’s men and women's swimming and diving teams swept the weekly Great Midwest Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week awards as announced on Tuesday.
For the fourth straight week on the men’s side, senior Janko Radmanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) captured weekly honors while sophomore Hanna Cederholm (Kvibille, Sweden) represented the women.
Radmanovic, who has now won the award four straight weeks, captured seven first-place finishes last weekend for Findlay. He began the week with wins in the 500-yard freestyle (4:42.60) and 1,000-yard freestyle (9:48.83) against Ashland.
He was also a part of the Oilers 200-yard freestyle relay team (1:26.99) that captured golf against the Eagles.
Radmanovic then added four more first place finishes against Lewis. He claimed first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:42.94), 50-yard freestyle (21.05) and 100-yard butterfly (50.31). He was a part of the Oilers 200-yard freestyle relay team that took first at 1:25.12.
Merged with the Mountain East Conference for top performances this season, Radmanovic is now in possession of seven top times in different events already.
Cederholm had seven first place finishes for the Oilers as well as the program emerged nationally ranked in the CSCAA NCAA DII Poll at No. 22.
Against Ashland, Cederholm won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:11.20 and was a part of the Oilers’ 200-yard medley relay (1:50.02) and 200-yard freestyle relay (1:38.20) units that were first.
Against Hillsdale and Lewis, Cederholm won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.81) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:23.91).
She was also a part of the Oilers 400-yard medley relay (3:58.83) and 200-yard freestyle relay (1:38.46) teams that captured first place at the meet.
