Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week (Nov. 13)

INDIANAPOLIS – Hillsdale senior guard Ryan Badowski (Brunswick, OH / Brunswick HS) was selected as the second Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week on Monday.
 
Badowski and the Chargers started the 2017-18 season with a 2-0 showing out in Canton, Ohio, as part of the G-MAC/GLVC Challenge. Hillsdale recorded a pair of Midwest Regional wins, including 2017 NCAA qualifier Southern Indiana and Illinois Springfield, both from the GLVC.
 
Badowski led his team with 19.5 points per game as he shot a sizzling 71.4 percent from the field and an efficient 7-of-10 from three-point territory.
 
Badowski averaged 12.7 points per game as a junior and was also named the GLIAC South Division Player of the Week to begin the season.
 
In Hillsdale’s season-opening win against Southern Indiana, Badowski was 5-of-8 on all attempts, including two three-pointers as part of a 13-point effort. He also had four rebounds.
 
Against Illinois Springfield, he was near-perfect with a 10-for-13 line, including 5-of-7 dialed up from long distance as he erupted for 26 points. He also had a block, steal and an assist to go with two rebounds in 32 minutes on the floor.
