Ohio Valley Rises to No. 16 in United Soccer Poll

INDIANAPOLIS - The United Soccer Coaches released its Week Five National Top-25 Poll on Tuesday and Ohio Valley moved up in the latest rankings once again.
 
The Fighting Scots come in ranked 16th after being ranked at No. 18 in last week’s poll. This jump comes after conference victories over Trevecca and Kentucky Wesleyan advancing their overall record to 10-1-1 and 7-0-1 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.
 
As a team, Ohio Valley leads the Great Midwest in shots, points, goals, assists and shutouts.
 
The United Soccer Coaches also released their Week Five Regional Polls on Tuesday. Ohio Valley remained ranked third behind Rockhurst University and Saginaw Valley State University. Behind them for the first time is Davis and Elkins. The Senators make their regional ranking debut at sixth. Findlay rounds out the men’s rankings at ninth after being ranked sixth last week.
 
The Ohio Valley women’s team also stayed firm in the new regional poll at fourth. Behind them comes Walsh, who remained undefeated this week and moved up to fifth after being ranked sixth last week. The final team represented in the Week Five regional poll is Ohio Dominican which also moved up one spot from seventh to sixth.
