Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week (Oct. 31)

INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week was announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon as the fall season nears a close.

Findlay placed the highest of any Great Midwest team this past weekend as they finished fourth of 17 schools at the Music City Invitational hosted by Trevecca.

For the fourth time already this season, Torres earned weekly conference honors with a strong individual effort.

The Oilers posted a two-round score of 625 at the Music City Invitational and Torres led the way, pacing Findlay with back-to-back rounds of 75. The 6-over par cumulative score she finished with was good enough for fourth place in the contest, and the 150 is one shot away from her season low for a 36-hole score.

On the season, Torres is averaging less than 75 shots per round. This is almost three shots better than the next closest competitor. Torres also has posted four of the top five lowest single round scores this season as Findlay continues to put up conference record-breaking numbers as a team.
