INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference released the fourth edition of the Men and Women’s Swimming & Diving Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.
Strong individual performances from competitors on both Findlay and Malone earned each program honors for the second consecutive week.
Janko Radmanovic
Findlay
Senior
Belgrade, Serbia
For the second consecutive week, Radmanovic turned in some impressive times in Findlay’s contest against Saginaw Valley State for repeat honors.
The senior NCAA All-American won and set a conference season-best time in each of the three individual events he competed in. In the 100-yard freestyle, his time of 46.87 won the event. He then placed first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:43.56. In the final event, the 100-yard butterfly, his time of 50.13 won the meet by over 2.5 seconds.
Radmanovic now owns five conference best times on the season and has led Findlay in scoring every meet the Oilers have competed in.
Denise Quentin
Malone
Freshman
Schwerte, Germany (Friedrich-ehrens Gymnasium)
For the second consecutive week, a Malone freshman has captured women’s honors after Abby Reynolds earned recognition prior.
Quentin swam in four events, and won each of them for the Pioneers as Malone beat Davis & Elkins head-to-head. The first event was her team event, the 200-yard medley relay. She, alongside Reynolds, Kaila Butterworth and Lauren Cantor, won the race by almost four seconds.
The freshman then competed in the 200-yard butterfly and finished first by 2.5 seconds in that event. In the 100-yard butterfly, Quentin not only won the event, but she swam the fastest of any conference member in that event this season.
The final event that she raced in also resulted in a 2017 conference best. Her time of 4:56.79 won the meet as well, completing her perfect day in the pool.
