INDIANAPOLIS – Davis & Elkins claimed both Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Players of the Week honors for the second consecutive time as the streaking Senators continue to gain midseason momentum.
 
The Great Midwest is emerging as strong league for NCAA Championship Midwest Regional seeding this year with No. 18 Ohio Valley (10-1-1), Davis & Elkins (7-1-1) and Findlay (7-2-0), currently in the mix.
 
The Great Midwest, GLIAC and GLVC, each get automatic-qualifying bids to the postseason this year.
 
D&E extended its win streak to six straight after blanking Findlay and Ohio Dominican this week at home. OVU remains at the top of the league standings after winning two games by a combined score of 6-1.
 
All eyes will be on a Thursday clash between OVU and D&E in Elkins with at least a share of first place on the line for both teams.
 
The Fighting Scots (7-0-1 G-MAC) have 22 conference points versus 19 for the Senators (6-0-1 G-MAC).
 
Lake Erie enjoyed a 2-0 week after toppling Walsh and Malone while Cedarville also rolled to two wins against Trevecca and Kentucky Wesleyan.

Moreno scored four goals to lead all players in points, adding to a deadly offensive arsenal with Week 4 Offensive Player of the Week Tim Staerz.
 
Moreno contributed a goal against Findlay in a 3-0 final before recording a hat trick, including the game-winning shot, against Ohio Dominican.
 
He scored four goals on just seven shots. His goal vs. the Oilers was late in the second half to give his a team a 2-0 lead.
 
Moreno scored in the 37th, 54th and 65th minutes, of a decisive Senators win against the Panthers.
 
With the offensive outburst, Moreno now ranks tied for fifth in the league with 14 points. He is tied for second in goals with his teammate Staerz and Ohio Valley’s Celso Riveros.

The Senators have now pitched six consecutive shutouts, a streak that began on Sept. 13 against Walsh in conference play.
 
Peter was on the field for all 180 minutes as a key member of a defensive unit that allowed just six shots vs. Findlay and 10 shots vs. Ohio Dominican.
 
Davis & Elkins has outscored its opponents by a combined score of 24-0 in its last six contests. The Senators biggest test of the season to date will come on Thursday against OVU.
 
Peter has started and played in all nine games for D&E while logging a team-high 829 minutes on the field.
