INDIANAPOLIS – The playoff picture continues to become more clear as the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Players of the Week were announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Six of the eight possible spots for the 2017 Great Midwest Championship have been secured with the quarterfinal destinations also finalized.
Ohio Valley and Findlay will host the opening round of the conference tournament.
Additionally, Davis & Elkins, Trevecca, Cedarville and Alderson Broaddus, have also clinched postseason berths. Five teams are vying for the last two spots with three games in the regular season remaining.
The first edition of the NCAA Midwest Region Rankings will also be released on Wednesday afternoon featuring the Great Midwest, Great Lakes Valley Conference and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Automatic qualifiers for the NCAA Championship Midwest Regional will come into play for the first time this season.
Great Midwest Offensive Player of the Week

All season, Riveros has been a staple of consistency for the Fighting Scots’ ascension into national prominence with back-to-back weeks ranks in the United Soccer Coaches Poll at No. 11.
In a lineup full of impressive offensive talents, Riveros stands out as a leading contender for conference player of the year consideration as the league leader in points (23) and goals (10).
His latest efforts helped Ohio Valley to a pair of road wins at Walsh and Malone as he scored three times between both contests.
Riveros scored two goals against Walsh as the Fighting Scots won 3-1. Teammate Alex Horveno assisted all three OVU goals as Riveros found the net for the first and final scores of the contest.
Riveros’ 10th goal of the season was a game winner in a shutout effort vs. Malone. He scored just short of 10 minutes elapsed in regulation before the Fighting Scots won 4-0.

The Trojans carved out two signature wins for the season to date to help clinch a playoff spot in the upcoming Great Midwest Championship field.
Trevecca toppled Davis & Elkins and Alderson Broaddus to improve to 6-5-2 overall and 6-4-1 in the conference standings.
Delgado helped quiet two of the league’s most dangerous offenses playing all 180 minutes, including one shutout effort against AB.
Delgado made five saves in a 3-2 Trevecca win against D&E before making seven stops in the 3-0 blanking of the Battlers.
The sophomore has played in over 1,220 minutes this season as the Trojans’ keeper while starting all 13 games. This is his second career conference weekly honor.
