INDIANAPOLIS – Malone senior forward Hannah McCue was announced as the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week on Monday.

McCue and the Pioneers extended what is now a six-game win streak and started the conference schedule with a pair of wins against Alderson Broaddus and Davis & Elkins.

Not included in the official record during Malone’s impressive recent stretch is an exhibition win against NCAA Division I Bowling Green.

McCue averaged a strong double-double as Malone won at AB and defended its home court in Canton against D&E. She had 18 points and 10 rebounds combined in both contests along with a pair of steals.

Against AB, McCue had 17 points and 14 rebounds, including a pair of three-point field goals made. She also had at least one assist, steal and block.

Versus the Senators at home in Malone’s conference home opener, she made seven more field goals to finish with 19 points and six rebounds.

McCue was also a perfect 8-for-8 at the free throw line over the past week. Malone is one of three teams out to a 2-0 start in conference play with Kentucky Wesleyan and Ursuline.

She is currently fourth in the G-MAC in scoring (15.5 ppg), second in rebounding (9.8 rpg), sixth in free throw percentage (78.2) and tied for first in steals (2.1 spg). She is also fourth in blocks and top eight in three pointers made.
