INDIANAPOLIS – Davis & Elkins senior forward Kevin Bracy-Davis was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
 
This is the second time this season and fourth time in his career that Bracy-Davis has collected conference weekly honors.
 
The Senators are winners of four straight, including a pair of conference contests last week against Ohio Valley and Cedarville. Davis & Elkins is sitting comfortably in a three-way tie for first in the G-MAC standings at 3-0 along with Kentucky Wesleyan and Alderson Broaddus.
 
Bracy-Davis averaged 24 points and 13.5 rebounds per game while continuing to use his long wingspan to harass opponents with 1.5 blocks. He also recorded double-doubles in each D&E win.
 
Against Ohio Valley, Bracy-Davis carved out 18 points and 15 rebounds on 7-of-15 shooting. He had a pair of steals and blocks with three assists.
 
Two days later against Cedarville, he erupted for 30 or more points for the fourth time this season. Bracy-Davis finished with a 9-for-18 line from the field and pulled in 12 more rebounds.
 
Bracy-Davis is second all-time in the conference in scoring with 1,380 points going into the new week. He has climbed into third for free throws made (321) and is fourth in rebounds with 522 since 2013. With three swatted shots, he’s also tied for third with 81 in his career.
 
Around the G-MAC this year, he remains the league leader in scoring at 22 points per game. His other rankings include second in rebounding (8.4 rpg), fifth in field goal percentage (.533), third in free throw percentage (.793) and third in blocks (0.9).
 
The Senators have a pair of road battles on the docket this week with games at Kentucky Wesleyan and Trevecca Nazarene scheduled for Thursday/Saturday.
