GREENWOOD, Ind. - Ohio Valley senior outside hitter/right side Alyx Henry was named the third Great Midwest Athletic Conference Volleyball Athlete of the Week for the fall.

Over the weekend the Fighting Scotts traveled to Notre Dame College (OH) to compete in the Falcons'-hosted tournament. OVU split the weekend at 2-2, but established some serious momentum as conference play looms ahead.

Ohio Valley also swept Salem International in straight sets earlier in the week.

OVU topped a previously undefeated Gannon program in three straight sets to hand the Golden Knights their first loss of the season. Gannon was an NCAA qualifier last year that advanced to the final 16 teams in the national tournament.

OVU also dug deep to beat host Notre Dame College, 3-2, and played Pitt-Johnstown and Shippensburg as well.

Henry averaged five kills per set and two digs per game while totaling 90 kills in just five matches. She also hit to a clip of .307 and contributed 23 kills and 15 digs against Notre Dame in the OVU five-set win.

Heading into a new week, Henry emerged as the conference's career leader in kills with 1,452. She also currently ranks 11th in career digs with 851.
