GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference recently announced the official promotion of staff member Kevin Alcox to Associate Commissioner for External Relations.
Alcox was previously serving in the role of G-MAC Assistant Commissioner for External Relations, a title he has held since July of 2014.
With the new title of G-MAC Associate Commissioner for External Relations, Alcox has continued his integral role with championships and sponsorship while getting prepared for the start of the 2016-17 academic year.
The new title for Alcox was effective as of July 1.
Alcox has been a building block for the formation of the current eight-member conference from the beginning, filling multiple roles that included G-MAC Assistant Commissioner for Communications in the league’s early stages, as the conference enters its fifth year of existence.
A native of Cleveland, Alcox is responsible for the development of relationships with external groups to enhance the growth of the G-MAC through improved championship experiences, community engagement, corporate partnerships and brand identifications.
Alcox’s extensive professional background includes Director of Sports Information and Women’s Golf Head Coach at one of the G-MAC’s charter members, Ursuline. Other professional stops along the way before the G-MAC featured stints at the Akron Aeros, University of Akron, University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Frostburg State University.
Alcox graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Ashland University in 2001 and acquired his master’s of education degree from Frostburg State in 2004.
